Diaphanarch is
a website for the architecture firm of Sabine von Fischer. A firm for
architecture in the form of drawings and texts – from concept and
criticism to construction. Diaphanarch offers architectural services
in the form of drawing and text: from concept and criticism to construction.
Diaphanarch works with different project partners and changing parameters.
This is translated in various content which are presented on this site;
as the usual introduction, profile and bibliography the rest of the content
is divided into more open terms as: design research, materials imagined,
materials constructed, and work in progress, were very diverse projects
are hosted together. As Sabine von Fischer sais: "Architecture has
many times and places". It was clear from the beginning that the
site needed extensive image galleries to present her diverse work as
to fulfill diverse goals at once. Per example the scope was to show technical
drawings of projects for future contracts but the site had also to express
her own design research or / and her theoretical work. In order to produce
a certain visual dissonance to the inherit visual structures and patterns
resulting out of such image galleries and plain texts and lists we decided
on a colored greenish background mixed with minor attentions in cyan,
teal, brownish-grey, mint-green, and grey-lightblue in the form of the
colored pull down navigation and a 5 image banner as well as the orange
diaphanarch logo in the cut out corner of the color surface - this to
break the otherwise quite stern setup. Also the color gives the architect's
images an interesting and different "ground." Next to this the focus
lied also in the words and terms for navigation, titles, subtitles and text image
relation on the different sites itself. Most of the projects are linked to an own
image gallery which features each image in large scale as well. A project index
gives an overview of all the projects. A link list shows the architect's parallel
